Dolly (Konkona Sen Sharma) is a working mother living in the outskirts of New Delhi. As a middle-class married woman, she has planned to move to a new block of flats with her husband and sons.
It seems Dolly has a perfect family life, but in fact, Dolly just maintains it like a perfect picture. And she wants something exciting.
On the other hand, Dolly has a cousin named Kajal (Bhumi Pednekar). Kajal comes to the city from a rural area. But she has little skills, there is almost no job opportunity for Kajal. So, with the nickname “Kitty”, Kajal starts working as a cyber-lover of a dating app.
The two cousins often criticize mutual life during their communication. Also, they share the secrets of each other. Gradually, they find that both refuse to live under the rules the society makes for them. Moreover, they long for freedom by breaking all the rules.
